Achmea Impact Ventures backs Amsterdam AI startup Weeve

Stefan Weiss

The Amsterdam startup processes professional conversations entirely on the user’s device and helps people carry decisions, commitments and context into what comes next.
AMSTERDAM, Jun 23 2026. Weeve, an Amsterdam-based AI startup that gives professionals a private AI memory for their conversations, has received an investment from and formed a partnership with Achmea Impact Ventures. The investment will support product development and accelerate Weeve’s growth across Europe, helping the company bring its private, on-device AI to more professionals and organisations.
Private by design
Professional conversations often contain an organisation’s most sensitive information. Cloud-based meeting assistants process recordings and transcripts on external servers. For many teams, that raises questions about where confidential information is stored and whether it could be used to train external models.
Weeve takes a local-only approach. When activated, it records, transcribes and summarises the conversation directly on the user’s device. Beyond the summary, Weeve is building follow-through tools that track commitments, prepare follow-up emails for the user to send, and bring relevant context back before the next discussion. No bot joins the call. No audio, transcript or derived content is uploaded to the cloud or leaves the device.
Stefan Weiss, Founder and CEO of Weeve: “We’re really proud of what this team has achieved in a short time. Several pivots and a lot of user feedback brought us closer to the problem we now want to solve: helping people carry decisions, promises and context into what comes next. Achmea’s continued trust means a great deal and gives us the support to keep building.”
From venture studio to independent company
Weeve grew out of the venture studio at Achmea Impact Ventures, where Weiss worked as a venture builder focused on AI and new business creation in the area of new work. Together with co-founder Dylan de Heer, he developed the product through interviews, prototypes and beta releases before forming Weeve as an independent company. The new partnership continues that relationship through active support and access to Achmea’s network.
Erik Petersen, Head of Innovation at Achmea Impact Ventures: “Weeve addresses a clear challenge for organisations: improving productivity with AI while retaining control over sensitive data. The team made strong progress in our venture studio, turning user feedback into a focused product built around data sovereignty. This investment and partnership gives Stefan and Dylan the backing to accelerate product development and make private, on-device AI usable in professional environments where data control matters.”
Built for European organisations
This local architecture has wider relevance for European organisations. It removes the need to send confidential discussions to external AI providers, reduces dependence on large US technology companies and keeps the data under the organisation’s control.
Weeve’s longer-term vision is to give every professional a private memory that grows with their work. Each discussion should make the next one easier to prepare for by recalling what was decided, promised and still needs attention.
