Recorder details
Practical limits for voice memo recorder.
Make memos easier to use
Begin with a short subject, then state the decision or next action. A clear structure makes the recording useful even before transcription.
Keep the microphone close enough for steady speech. Moving outdoors, covering the microphone, or speaking across a room reduces clarity.
Voice memos on a Mac
This page can record from the Mac microphone without opening the built-in Voice Memos app. Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox can all request microphone access.
The browser recording remains separate from Apple Voice Memos and iCloud. Download it to choose where the file is stored.
Turn a memo into text
Send a supported memo to the Weeve transcriber when you need searchable or editable text. The recording can be up to 60 minutes.
Speech models download from Weeve’s CDN for transcription. Recording itself does not require those model files.
Your recording stays here
Your recording never leaves this page. Download it before closing the tab if you need to keep it.
