Choose the right microphone
A headset or close USB microphone usually captures less room echo than a laptop microphone across a desk. Device names appear after permission is granted.
Disconnecting the active input can interrupt capture. Select the intended microphone before a long recording.
Set a useful level
Speak at the volume and distance you expect to use. Repeated maximum peaks can mean clipping. A barely moving meter can mean the input is too quiet.
Browser noise handling can help, but it cannot repair severe clipping, wind, or a covered microphone.
Keep mobile recording active
Switching apps or locking a phone can suspend the browser and stop recording. Keep this tab open until you finish.
