Weeve launches European AI for conversations that runs locally on the Mac

Growing use among business teams and independent professionals takes the Amsterdam AI app out of beta. With Free and Pro, Weeve makes local AI available for everyday work.

AMSTERDAM, Jul 28 2026 - Amsterdam-based AI startup Weeve today launches the public version of its app for conversations and dictation. Business teams and independent professionals use Weeve for client conversations, project meetings, interviews and spoken text. The app turns this work into searchable transcripts and structured summaries. Processing takes place locally on the Mac.

Early demand is strongest among small organizations and independent practices in technology, creative and design work, and professional services. These teams spend much of their day in conversations. With every additional AI tool, notes, decisions and action items become more scattered across documents, providers and workflows. Growing use in this daily work is why Weeve is leaving beta and introducing Free and Pro.

AI becomes more focused and local

The first wave of business AI often defaulted to the largest available model, regardless of the task. Companies are now looking more closely at which model each workflow actually needs. For defined tasks such as transcription, dictation and meeting summaries, purpose-built models can run locally on modern laptops. This can deliver practical productivity gains while keeping conversation data on the device and costs more predictable.

This shift is happening inside a fast-growing market. Meeting app Granola raised $125 million in March at a $1.5 billion valuation. Weeve is taking a European, local-architecture approach to that market.

Weeve captures online and in-person conversations without a meeting bot. The app connects audio to the transcript, structures decisions and action items, and lets people dictate directly into their daily work. Conversation content is not sent to Weeve or an external AI cloud.

Weeve uses the computing power already inside the Mac, giving teams practical support without creating another stream of sensitive company data.”

Tested by Xebia’s engineering team

Weeve tests new versions with technical and business teams to balance performance, usability and security. During a recent product session at Xebia, its engineering team deliberately put the app under pressure. The engineers tested areas including setup, transcription quality, error handling and development-process security. Their findings are being used to strengthen the product further.

Weeve is backed by Achmea Impact Ventures and works with the investor on product development, research and growth.

The public release introduces Free and Pro. Free includes ten longer recordings per month, two projects and free dictation. Pro provides unlimited recordings and projects for €12.99 per month or €119.88 per year, excluding VAT.
