Practical details for mp4 to text.
Get the words out of a video
Webinars, lectures, screen recordings, and recorded interviews hold speech you may want to skim, search, or quote. Text lets you do that without scrubbing through a timeline.
Export the recording from its source first. Weeve works on the local file you select, not on links or platform accounts.
Speech from the audio track only
Weeve transcribes what was said. Slides, captions burned into the frames, and other on-screen text are not read, because the video track is never inspected.
Two MP4s can behave differently in the same browser when they carry different audio codecs. Common AAC tracks usually decode without trouble.
Cleaning up the text afterwards
Review names, acronyms, and specialist terms in the draft. Speaker separation groups voices into numbered labels you can rename, with a manual count from 1 to 8 when the automatic guess is off.
Exports reflect the reviewed transcript, so fix the labels before you download the text.
Your recording stays here
Recording bytes, decoded audio, transcript text, and speaker names stay on this page. Speech models download from Weeve’s CDN.
A transcript you can review
Timestamps and speaker labels stay editable before export.

Great. I renamed your speaker label, so the exported notes will use your name.
